Letter: Tories are as greedy as what?

I MUST protest about the cartoon on your leader page (23 October). The depiction of a Tory MP as a pig must offend pigs everywhere.

It reminds me of a joke I heard during the 1983 election: a Liberal candidate is speaking to local farmers, and suggests that Margaret Thatcher and her supporters are as greedy as pigs. The aggressive response prompts his apology. 'Sorry, I didn't know this was Thatcher country.' 'It's not.

It's pig country,' explains a local.
