Letter: The fewer the better

Sir: I suspect that the opposition to parents choosing the sex of their child is a male conspiracy ('Limits of parental choice', 26 January). It seems obvious to me that if the female population were to go into decline as a result of choice, it would only do good for the cause of women: rarity increases value. An excessive male population would do more for women than any weak-minded government legislation.
