I KNOW who the phantom of the Royal Opera House could be ("Real 'phantom' stalks the Royal Opera House", 15 August). It could be an irate erstwhile "Friend of Covent Garden" who, on being asked to renew membership, is presented with a list of options - the more you pay, the better the service. The ROH management was given millions of lottery money to make opera-going less elitist. Do the Friends know this?
