Letter: How worker participation would benefit the bosses
WHEN CONSIDERING the movement of jobs within Europe, Neal Ascherson accuses employers of playing off workforces in different countries against each other. However, he ignores the fact that the real competition is with the workforces outside Europe, where labour costs are much lower. We will not be thanked by our employees for levelling up the playing field in Europe if the match has been moved to the Far East.
