Letter: Angry reaction to government veto of universities' pay settlement
Sir: I note that Nigel Forman believes that because 'there are no difficulties in recruiting and retaining university lecturers' they do not need their recommended pay rise (report, 17 July).
Since there is no shortage of
applicants to be MPs, his argument should similarly have applied to the recent rise in their
allowances.
