Toulouse le trek

ADVICE continues to arrive on how to get a student and her belongings as cheaply as possible to Toulouse (Departures, 1 August). Mrs R L Dunn, of Derby, recommends taking the Eurolines coach from London Victoria (departs Saturday and Wednesday at 20.00 arriving 16.15 the next day). The adult return is pounds 105; the youth single is pounds 56 (both include ferry).

Mrs Dunn says each passenger is allowed two medium-sized suitcases and hand baggage: additional baggage is charged at pounds 4 per item. 'If parents also travel, six suitcases can be taken and they will have the opportunity of seeing Toulouse]'

Christmas escape

A 42-YEAR-OLD widower from Oxfordshire with a six-year- old son is trying to arrange a holiday for the Christmas and New Year period. 'My usual holiday organisers will not take anyone under 14,' he writes.

'Do you know of any organisations that could help? What I want is a holiday of up to 14 days that will give us the opportunity to meet people of our own age, provide some sense of adventure and personal development and, preferably, get us away from the misery of an English Christmas - money is no real object.'

Bold adventure

EXPEDITION Aotearoa 93 (091- 262 9704) is looking for five men and five women, all in remission from leukaemia, to join a five- week expedition to New Zealand supported by a team of four expedition workers.

'The principal aim of the expedition: to provide a unique opportunity for people living with leukaemia to challenge both their own status and society's understanding of this life- threatening disease.'
