Gadget shoppers from around the globe will be searching for unbeatable prices on more than 25,000 different products during the largest consumer IT and electronics show in the Middle East, GITEX Shopper and Consumer Electronics Expo.

Big name brands such as Bose, Nokia and Virgin Megastore will be at GITEX Shopper for the first time in 2011, joining consumer favorites such as Canon, Dell, Fujitsu, Hewlett-Packard, HTC, Lenovo, Panasonic, Research In Motion, Microsoft and Samsung.

"The consumer electronics market across the Middle East continues to grow at one of the fastest rates in the world and GITEX Shopper is an excellent way to provide access to the latest and greatest technology products at one convenient location," said Trixee Loh, senior vice president, Dubai World Trade Centre, organizer of the event.

Heavily discounted tablets, smartphones, TVs and laptops will be in high demand at the event but they are not the only products on display.

More unusual finds include a two-wheeled self-balancing electric vehicle called Robostep, an autonomous robo-pet dinosaur called Pleo, and luxury sculptured wireless glass speakers made by Greensound Technology.

In 2010 GITEX Shopper was host to over 166,500 visitors. The 2011 edition is shaping up to be even bigger with GITEX Shopper increasing its exhibitor space to accommodate new Shopper brands.

GITEX Shopper will take place from October 8 to 15 at the Airport Expo Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It will be held in association with with the 31st edition of GITEX Technology Week (October 9-13).

GITEX Shopper is comparable to the Hong Kong Electronics Fair, which will be held in Hong Kong from October 13-16. The Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) is expected to host more than 3,000 exhibitors.

Tickets for the event are priced at AED 30 (about €6] per person and can be purchased at the venue or in advance from Time Out Tickets or ENOC/EPPCO outlets.
