Johann Laxdal and his team-mates at Icelandic soccer side Stjarnan found global fame as a result of an improbable goal celebration - after netting an injury-time winner, they play-acted the catching of Laxdal's evocative leaping salmon and hoisted him aloft for a make-believe photograph.

Such creative jubilance was soon circulated far and wide, and the YouTube user who uploaded the since removed clip supplemented it with a few more Stjarnan routines: the Rambo tribute, a military parade, and a ballroom dance (though, with typical dry humor, the goalscorer is left without a partner).

Elsewhere, a tentative gloves-off fist-fight is on the cards for two young ice hockey players - at least until Mom steps in - Brazilian wonderkid Neymar can't quite convert a penalty kick despite his confidence, Manchester United's new Mexican signing Hernandez makes his debut, and a LeBron James shirt at the baseball stadium in LeBron's old city of Cleveland causes significant crowd unrest.
