Conor McGregor: Khabib Nurmagomedov reacts to attack on bus at UFC 223 that led to Irishman in police custody

McGregor is due in front of a judge on Friday

Khabib Nurmagomedov has reacted to Conor McGregor’s bus attack, claiming he is “laughing” at the incident which has left the former two-weight UFC champion in police custody overnight.

McGregor is set to appear in court after being charged with three counts of assault following a violent incident at UFC 223’s media day in New York on Thursday evening.

The Irishman, who was stripped of his lightweight championship title this week, gatecrashed the event ahead of this Saturday’s UFC 223 where he was filmed picking up railing before attempting to throw it at the coach.

A warrant was issued for his arrest with the Irishman handing himself into authorities at around 9pm local time on Thursday and will now see a judge on Friday.

Hours after the altercation, Nurmagomedov, who was on the bus McGregor was attacking, goaded his rival and questioned why he didn’t try and enter the bus to fight.

“I am laughing inside,” Nurmagomedov said. “You broke window? Why? Come inside. You know UFC don’t let you come inside. If you real gangster why don’t you come inside?

“This is big history gangster place. Brooklyn. You want to talk to me? Send me location. We have to talk? I am gonna come, no problem.

“I grew up like this. I don’t grow up throwing chairs at window. This is not my bus.”

McGregor was at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn with members of his team to, according to reports, retaliate against Nurmagomedov for cornering Artem Lobov, a good friend at stablemate of the Irishman.

Lobov has consequently been pulled from Saturday’s card, along with Ray Borg and Michael Chiesa, who were injured by smashed glass while on the bus.
