Mick Wadsworth has joined the coaching staff at Crystal Palace on a temporary basis, a week after quitting as manager of Colchester United. The Essex club are giving a trial to the former West Ham and Norwich full- back Kenny Brown.

Leeds United must wait until early next week to learn where European football's governing body decides they are to play their Uefa Cup first round, second leg game against Partizan Belgrade. Russia or the Netherlands are two possible venues.

Jurgen Seedorf, the 18-year-old brother of Real Madrid's Dutch international midfielder Clarence, has been called up from the youth team to train with the club's first team. He was drafted in after several players were selected for international duty.
