THE English national championships, hit by a boycott of 17 leading men partly because of lack of sponsorship and low prize-money, yesterday acquired a sponsor. However the pounds 100,000 to be put in by the racket company, Fin, in 1994 and 1995 has come too late to attract the top players to this year's mens' event, which starts today at Cheadle.
