THE Rothmans Honda team have recruited Daryl Beattie, an Australian, to race in next year's 500cc grand prix series, following the retirement of his compatriot, the former world champion Wayne Gardner. Beattie, 21, will join his fellow Queenslander, Michael Doohan, who finished second in the 1992 series to the Yamaha team's Wayne Rainey, of the United States.
