Sport in Short: Equestrianism

BRIDGET PARKER, who was a member of Britain's winning Olympic three- day event team at Munich in 1972, has been appointed as chairman of the selection committee for the next four years. She takes over from Jane Holderness- Roddam, who has held the appointment since the end of 1988. Members of the committee, including the chef d'equipe, have yet to be named.

THE Pedigree Chum Horse Trials series will continue next year with backing for ten events, including Ston Easton Park in Somerset which hosts its first advanced class in March. The Kings Somborne fixture, which was part of the series this year, will not be held in 1993 but an alternative event will probably replace it.
