Jonny Wilkinson looks set to sign for a second season with Toulon.

The World Cup-winning fly-half moved to the Top 14 club from Newcastle last summer and has since returned to the England elite squad.

His agent Tim Buttimore is hopeful a new deal with the French outfit will be agreed within the next few weeks.

"Talks are progressing well," Buttimore told The Times.

"He is really enjoying life out there and we want to get it sorted out sooner rather than later - a matter of a few weeks."

Toulon coach Philippe Saint-Andre is delighted with how the 30-year-old has adapted to life across the Channel.

"There is less pressure on him here and he looks happy," he said. "I have spoken with his agent and his dad and there are a few things to sort out, but I am confident he will stay."

He added: "The salary cap (under which French clubs will operate next season) will not be a problem."

Toulon lie seventh in the Top 14 table following last weekend's 39-3 defeat to Clermont Auvergne.
