Maurice Lindsay is expected to have his switch to Super League confirmed today, with the former chief executive of the Rugby Football League saying that he is leaving behind "a lot of dross".

Lindsay, eased out of his previous job last week, also said that nothing could prevent him taking up his new position. "I'm afraid no one can stop me. It is going to happen."

Lindsay, in charge at the RFL for five years, said he would be delighted to leave the in-fighting behind. "I got frustrated with having to deal with a lot of drivel," he said.

Super League clubs will discuss the move tomorrow and the appointment should be confirmed straight afterwards.
