Godolphin rely on the Racing Post Trophy winner Ibn Khaldun to try to restore their Classic Fortunes in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket tomorrow, for which 15 colts stood their ground at yesterday's final declaration stage.

"He's worked very well all winter, we're very pleased with him, but the Guineas is a Guineas. He's going there fresh and well," said Godolphin's retained rider, Frankie Dettori

Ibn Khaldun will meet the unbeaten New Approach for the first time and Dettori admits that Jim Bolger's Irish raider dominates the field. "The Guineas is a championship race and we have an unbeaten champion in New Approach, he sets the standard," Dettori said.

Supporters of Raven's Pass can take heart from a drying day at Newmarket, where the official going is now good.
