Track officials were confident last night that today's meetings at Taunton and Nottingham can defy the threat of frost and snow. Racing could have taken place at Nottingham yesterday, while at Taunton the racecourse manager reported: "According to our local weatherman racing is 2-1 on to take place."

However, Fakenham were less optimistic about their chances for today. Snow was forecast overnight, and the stewards decided to hold an inspection today at 7am.
