JOCKEY Michael Wigham and Lambourn trainer Eric Wheeler were each fined pounds 350 at Bath yesterday. The pair were found to have breached the non-triers' rule following the running and riding of Pharaoh's Dancer in the Blandford Handicap at Salisbury 12 days ago.

Pharaoh's Dancer, a winner three times in the spring, started at 7-1 in the race but finished only eighth to the winner, Bells Of Longwick. The stewards' had been forced to postpone their inquiry at the racecourse, as Wheeler had left the track before they had the opportunity to question him.

Bookmakers are still withholding payment of all bets on Jo N Jack, the 33-1 winner of a Lingfield seller last Tuesday. The Betting Office Licensees' Association claim there were 'unusual betting patterns' before the race. But Roger Ingram, the horse's trainer, said at Plumpton yesterday that the Jockey Club had completely exonerated him. 'I was phoned by the Jockey Club this morning and given the all clear by them,' Ingram said.
