Golf: Lane happy with opt-out
Barry Lane, who pulled out of the US PGA Championship to play in the Hohe Brucke Austrian Open in Litschau, is convinced he made the right decision. Lane shot a six under par 66 yesterday for a two round aggregate of 135 and, though he is four shots behind the present leader, Spain's Juan Pinero, who leads at 13 under par on 131, he is more than satisfied .
"I dropped out of the US PGA because I wasn't playing well enough," Lane said. "Here, I have been far more relaxed. I played two good rounds, which have given me a great deal of confidence."
