Broncos want Domic back from Warrington

The London Broncos hope to add the Warrington loose forward, Sid Domic, to their recruitment plans for next season.

Warrington have to shed at least one of their five overseas players to get below their import quota for next year. Domic seems the most likely to leave, with the Broncos keen to give him the opportunity of staying in England.

"We like him as a player and we understand he's leaving Warrington," Nic Cartwright, London's chief executive, said. . "We've spoken to him and he's weighing up his options."

The Australian played for the Broncos in the 1994-95 season, alongside their current coach, Tony Rea.

The club has also taken Chorley's former St Helens hooker, Dave McConnell, on trial for the rest of the season. "He's got a chance to win a contract," Cartwright said. "It seems that Ellis, Devereux and Bateman would have played on the Saturday, but they would have had trouble raising the rest of the team," Niel Wood, the League's national development manager, said.

The matches are now likely to be played at Winnington Park, Northwich, the following day.

Wigan are likely to be without their prop, Danny Sculthorpe, after he suffered a suspected cracked rib in Monday's victory over Bradford.

Gateshead Thunder are looking for a new coach following the decision of Paul Fletcher to stand down at the end of the season.
