Bolt faces Crawford again

Usain Bolt will renew his rivalry with former Olympic 200-metres champion Shawn Crawford at the Athletissima meeting in Lausanne tomorrow.

Having won the 100m title with a world record performance, Bolt relieved American Crawford of the 200m crown in Beijing last summer when he lowered the legendary Michael Johnson's mark with a phenomenal time of 19.30 seconds.

Crawford and the remainder of the field were never in contention as the Jamaican triumphed by 0.66secs - the widest winning margin in the event's Olympic history. Now the 22-year-old goes head to head with Crawford, winner of the recent USA title, on the latest leg of the World Athletics Tour in Switzerland.

Elsewhere, American Dwight Phillips, who leads the world long jump rankings, clashes with South Africa's Khotso Mokoena and Sebastian Bayer of Germany - who both made big leaps last weekend.

British record holder Chris Tomlinson, whose performances have been inconsistent this summer, will be aiming to put on a better display than the eighth position he occupied in Madrid at the weekend.

The pole vault will see Olympic champion Steve Hooker face Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie, who joined him in the exclusive six-metres-plus club when he won at last month's European Team Championships.

Olympic champion and world 110m hurdles record holder Dayron Robles will be looking for a fast time on the quick Lausanne track and Andy Turner could be dragged to something special by his presence.

Beijing silver medallist Germaine Mason, with just a single high jump competition under his belt since returning from injury, will have a much-needed outing before this weekend's GB trials.
