January transfer window 2018 shuts: Ten of the top moves

The Premier League’s summer transfer window is open with Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal set to be busier than ever.

For the first time in over two decades Arsenal will head into the off-season with a new manager at the helm. That man looks set to be Unai Emery, who has beaten Mikel Arteta to the job. At United Jose Mourinho looks set to spend big again as he targets reinforcements in his bid to haul in record-breaking Manchester City next season. A new left-back and central midfield player are high on his list.

Liverpool have enjoyed success in the Champions League this term and their quest to end their league title drought in 2019 will be bolstered by the arrival of Naby Keita from RB Leipzig – he will not be the last new face on Merseyside, however. Chelsea could well be looking for a new manager themselves with the future of Mauricio Pochettino across London at Tottenham Hotspur less certain than ever before.

We will have all the latest news, views, rumours, gossip and done deals right here so don’t touch that dial.

Paul Pogba has stressed that he “doesn’t have to be best friends” with Jose Mourinho and that he is unsure of his future at Manchester United, reinforcing the development of a rift emerging between the club’s record signing and the manager after a disappointing campaign.

Despite improving from sixth to second in the Premier League, United finished the season trophy-less after losing Saturday’s FA Cup final 1-0 to Chelsea, a result that has seen Mourinho face extra scrutiny for his methods.

The Portuguese clashed with Pogba earlier in the season when he dropped the France international from his starting XI, and although Pogba forced his way back into the side, he has not looked at the peak of his game in recent months at Old Trafford.

Andres Iniesta has bid an emotional farewell to Barcelona after 22 glittering years at the Nou Camp.

LaLiga champions Barca claimed a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad and it was a fitting finale for the 34-year-old, who lifted the trophy for a ninth time.

Addressing supporters on the pitch after the final whistle, Iniesta said he "leaves as a man", having spent so long playing for the Catalan giants.

"I will move on and carry you all in my heart forever," he said. "It's been a wonderful 22 years, full of pride, and it's been a pleasure to represent this club.

Thomas Tuchel says PSG must build their team around "artist" Neymar.

"If we find a way to build a structure around him, so he can show all his talent on the pitch, I think we have a key player to win our games."
