With Arsenal set to complete the deal for Petr Cech, fans have lauded the imminent acquisition as one of the best bargains in their history, with the club ready to sign the 33-year-old goalkeeper from Chelsea in an £11m deal.

Cech is highly likely to make the No 1 shirt his own and the Emirates faithful are openly optimistic that the Czech Republic international could be the missing link in their quest to regain the Premier League trophy after what will be 12 longs years without it.

But should the move for Cech pay off, it will hardly be the first success story that Arsenal have completed in their career.
