Ole Gunnar Solskjaer confident Paul Pogba will be at Manchester United next season

Manchester United are set for a big summer with both ins and outs set to dictate how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responds to a disappointing end to last season.

The Red Devils initially responded to the Norwegian replacing Jose Mourinho in December.

But having failed to make the top four, United face a tough task, especially with Paul Pogba linked with a move away.

The Frenchman is now Real Madrid's primary target for the remainder of the window, according to Marca.

It is a big win for Zinedine Zidane, who prefers his compatriot to Christian Eriksen.

United will target Ivan Rakitic as a replacement and have asked Barcelona to name their price for the Croatian, according to Sport.

United will also come back with an improved offer for Aaron Wan Bissaka after Crystal Palace rejected a £40m offer for the young full-back.

The Mirror believe United are confident of undercutting Palace's £60m valuation to strike a deal at around £50m.

While David De Gea could well leave, with the Spaniard recently displaced by Chelsea's Kepa Arrizabalaga for the national team after a tough end to the season.

United are prepared though and have made Ajax's Andre Onana their first choice to replace the former Atletico Madrid shot-stopper.

They are aware of Jan Oblak's interest and rate him highly, but sources see it as unlikely the club would pay so much for a goalkeeper in this window, as they prioritise other areas in an overhaul.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on De Gea.

United have also made progress in signing Saint-Etienne’s William Saliba, though the French club could look to demand the player back on loan as part of the deal.

If they can bring the player to Old Trafford straight away, then the Metro believe Eric Bailly could become dispensible, with Arsenal interested.

United's pursuit of Matthijs De Ligt appears to be nearing an end, with PSG confident they can sign the Dutch defender due to tabling the highest offer.

Though De Ligt himself has revealed the reasons for his ultimate choice this summer, insisting it will be sporting reasons, game time and perhaps the attraction to play alongside Dutch colleague Frenkie De Jong at the Nou Camp with Barcelona.
