Adam Lallana’s late goal rescued a draw for Liverpool against a much-improved Manchester United side at Old Trafford.

The hosts led in the first half when Marcus Rashford converted a Daniel James cross, although the goal was controversially awarded after a VAR check appeared to show a foul on Divock Origi.

Liverpool then saw a goal ruled out just before the break as Sadio Mane handled the ball before sweeping past David de Gea.

United looked on course for a hard-fought victory, but substitute Lallana latched onto a Robertson cross with five minutes remaining to equalise. It meant Liverpool remained unbeaten, six points clear of Manchester City, while United climbed one place to 13th.
