Liverpool fans celebrate into the night after Premier League title win

Liverpool will lift the Premier League trophy on the Kop after their match against Chelsea next week.

The Reds have clinched their first league title in 30 years, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, fans have been absent at Anfield since the restart.

But now Jurgen Klopp’s side will pay tribute to their supporters when captain Jordan Henderson lifts the trophy on a specially designed podium on the Kop.

Following the game against the Blues on 22 July, a ceremony will take place to honour the latest Premier League champions, who hold a 21-point advantage over second-place Manchester City.

Reds legend Sir Kenny Dalglish, the manager of the club when they last won the title in 1990, will be a member of the Trophy presentation party.

While the game will be available to watch for free on Sky’s Pick channel in the UK.

The Reds and the Premier League are urging supporters to remain at home to watch the ceremony, instead of travelling to Anfield to celebrate.

The #LFCatHome campaign will allow fans to take part virtually by sharing photographs and videos of their celebrations.
