Jose Mourinho likely to face FA action after refusing to speak to the media after Chelsea lose at West Ham

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is likely to face another Football Association sanction after refusing to speak to the media after the Blues were beaten 2-1 by West Ham.

Their poor season appeared to have been turning around in the last week with victory against Aston Villa last week and an impressive performance in the 0-0 draw with Dynamo Kiev in the Champions League.

But Chelsea sunk to a new low at Upton Park after falling a goal behind to Mauro Zarate before Nemanja Matic picked up two obvious yellow cards to leave Chelsea with 10 men before half-time.

Under FA rule K.99.4.2. the manager of any Premier League club has to be present for broadcasters to conduct interviews within 20 minutes of the final whistle.

Assistant first-team coach Silvino Louro was sent to the stands for rushing onto the pitch after the Matic red card, before Mourinho failed to appear on the touchline for the second half.

There were contradictory reports coming from Upton Park but it appears that the Chelsea manager had attempted to speak to Jonathan Moss in the referees' dressing room during the break, which is not allowed.

Mourinho was likely to have been aggrieved after Cesc Fabregas had a goal ruled out for offside when he appeared to be in line with the defender - he will surely have no complaints about the Matic sending off.

Only when the Portuguese failed to retake his position pitchside, instead appearing in the stand amidst a flurry of camera phones - which no doubt would not have improved his mood - did word filter out that he too had been sent off.

Mourinho already has a suspended stadium ban hanging over him for previous indiscretions this season and is now likely to find himself in hot water with the Football Association once more.

The Portuguese then dodged the usual post-match press conference after his side slumped to their fifth defeat in 10 matches, instead heading straight for the exit and the team bus.

Despite playing through the middle, the winger kept dropping to the flanks to cause Chelsea all sorts of problems. But he carried out his defensive duties well ded – bullying Fabregas off the ball in one incident before clearing ball from Costa’s path and cleared Zouma’s header off line. Should have made it 2-0 but chipped ball over bar with time and space.

The winger won and took the corner that Zarate scored from while creating several other chances for the home side. His pace caused Zouma problems especially as he regularly linked up with Lanzini to create attacks.

Scored West Ham’s opener in the 15th minute with his low drive after finding himself completely unmarked. Had less of an impact going forwards than Lanzini and Payet, but stepped up when needed.

The defender’s header came to within an inch of giving Chelsea the equaliser, but goal-line technology ruled it just on the line. The Frenchman played a part in the Blues’ equaliser, applying the pressure to put Jenkinson off clearing Willian’s corner, which eventually fell to Cahill. However, he did have a few moments where he appeared unsure in his new position of right-back.

Got Chelsea back into the game when he equalised with a fine shot in the 56th minute – his first Premier League goal in 350 days – but was outjumped by Carroll for West Ham’s second goal.

On Friday Mourinho said his relationship with the media would change after phone camera footage of him walking around in west London was published.

The 'Special One' now finds himself as short as 3/1 to be the next Premier League manager to leave his club following what was, even by Chelsea's standards this season, a terrible day at the office.

After the game West Ham manager Slaven Bilic said: "I feel for Mourinho.

"A lot of decisions from his point of view have gone against him."
