Bolton and Tottenham in fixture conundrum

Tottenham and Bolton are still locked in discussions over how to schedule their FA Cup replay and avoid a fixture pile-up for Owen Coyle's men.

Bolton's Barclays Premier League trip to Blackburn is scheduled as an ESPN televised match next Monday - but that creates the problem of when to settle the fifth-round clash with Spurs.

FA Cup broadcasters ITV will put forward their choice of day before the clubs decide, with the matter complicated by the fact Champions League and Europa League matches will be screened next week.

It would not have been an issue if Tom Huddlestone had not missed Spurs' penalty at the Reebok Stadium, the fourth time Harry Redknapp's men have missed from the spot this season.

Left-back Gareth Bale said: "We don't practise penalties really and it's disappointing we missed one but things like that happen.

"Tom was down to take it before the game and he was unlucky. Will we practise them more now? You never know."

Bale has been in good form himself after being given his chance following an injury to first choice Benoit Assou-Ekotto.

The Wales international said: "Your confidence grows when you get a run of games, which I'm having at the moment, so I feel a lot more confident and I think that's showing on the pitch."
