Rio Ferdinand and John Terry in same charity team for match at Manchester United's Old Trafford

Ashley Cole will also play in the side managed by Sir Alex Ferguson

Rio Ferdinand and John Terry are to put aside their differences to play alongside each other for a charity match next month.

It was deemed that the pair could not be partnered for England whilst they were still available for selection, however they will appear in the same side at Old Trafford. In the select XI is Ashley Cole, who was also drawn into the conflict.

Terry received a four-match suspension after being found guilty of using abusive language towards Ferdinand's brother Anton during a Premier League game in October 2011, while Cole gave evidence on Terry's behalf at a magistrates hearing which saw the Chelsea captain cleared of a racial abuse charge over the same incident.

Ferdinand wrote in his autobiography that "three years later I find it impossible to forgive or forget the pain he (Terry) put my family through" and that he felt Cole had "betrayed" their friendship.

However, Ferdinand has agreed to play with the pair to help form Sir Alex Ferguson's Great Britain and Ireland side that will take on the Rest of the World in aid of UNICEF on Saturday, November 14.

David Beckham will captain the side that includes numerous other former Manchester United players, including Phil Neville, Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Michael Owen and Andy Cole.

David Seaman and David James are the two goalkeepers in a 14-man squad, which is completed by Sol Campbell and Jamie Carragher.

Carlo Ancelotti's Rest of the World team will be captained by Zinedine Zidane and boasts Patrick Vieira, Luis Figo and Ronaldinho.

Former Manchester United trio Edwin van der Sar, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Dwight Yorke are included, along with Italian defensive duo Fabio Cannavaro and Alessandro Nesta.
