Phil Jagielka will captain England for the first time in their Euro 2016 qualifying game away in Lithuania tonight, while Jamie Vardy and Harry Kane lead the line for Roy Hodgson's side.

A victory in Vilnius woud see England end the group stage with perfect record of 10 wins out of 10.

"We have a very interesting team for Phil to lead out," manager Hodgson said before the game. Regulars such as captain Wayne Rooney and goalkeeper Joe Hart have been rested as England have already qualified for next year's tournament in France as Group E winners. "We are ready for the task and will do our level best to win.

"We respect Lithuania. They did very well to get a draw against Slovenia. We will face a very well-organised team."

Jagielka said ahead of his first match as England captain: "I'm obviously delighted that Roy came and found me and broke the news. It's a great honour for me personally.

"We've got a big task ahead of us and it's something we can be proud of. We started this campaign a while ago and the job was to try to win every single game.

"Normally you say that and probably not a lot of people expect you to do so but we've got some great performances along the way."

ENGLAND TEAM:

Butland, Walker, Gibbs, Shelvey, Jones, Jagielka (c), Oxlade-Chamberlain, Barkley, Vardy, Kane, Lallana.

SUBS:

Smalling, Heaton, Walcott, Clyne, Bertrand, Townsend, Ings, Sterling, Alli.
