Olimpija Ljubljana end interest in appointing Harry Redknapp as manager
Former Tottenham and Queens Park Rangers boss was the odds-on favourite earlier this week
Olimpija Ljubljana have ended their interest in appointing Harry Redknapp as their new manager.
The Slovenian outfit are owned by former Portsmouth, Leicester City and Sheffield Wednesday chairman Milan Mandaric who worked with Redknapp at Fratton Park.
The 68-year-old, who left Queens Park Rangers in February 2015, was a potential target after Ljubljana club director revealed their interest last week.
But Mandaric has moved to quell the speculation, citing Redknapp’s lack of experience in Slovenian football as the reason behind his decision.
"We cannot afford the slightest error because there is too much at stake," he told the club's website.
"We need someone for whom the Slovenian football environment is not foreign.
"I can assure you that [it will not be Redknapp] because we cannot afford too many risks."
