Walsall last night earned a third-round meeting with Sheffield United after knocking Nottingham Forest out of the Coca-Cola Cup in an extraordinary second-round tie at Bescot Stadium.

Forest had looked in control after overhauling a 1-0 first-leg deficit thanks to a goal from their Dutch striker, Pierre van Hooijdonk, and a strike direct from a corner by Craig Armstrong in the first minute of extra time, after Van Hooijdonk had hit the bar from the half-way line in the 90th minute.

However, the First Division leaders were rocked by two goals from Andy Watson - the second just three minutes from the end of the added period - to complete a 3-2 aggregate win and spark jubilant scenes of celebration at the final whistle.
