Football: Team News
Blackburn v Manchester City
Blackburn have no injury problems as they go in search of a fourth successive home win. City, with only one of their last 10 games, have Griffiths back in attack.
Coventry City v Oldham Athletic
Borrows (flu) returns for Coventry to join the 14 who faced West Ham last weekend. Oldham will be without Beckford (ankle) for the holiday period. Hallworth (thigh) is fit to replace Walsh (tooth) in goal. Defenders Jobson and Makin are suspended.
Everton v Newcastle United
Barlow may replace Beagrie (hamstring) with Warzycha playing wide as Everton look for their first goal under Gabriel's management. Newcastle's Beresford (calf) is fit after six weeks out, but he may not oust Elliott from left-back.
Ipswich Town v Norwich City
Ipswich, unbeaten in six games, are again without top scorer Marshall (chicken pox) and Whitton (ankle) is missing from midfield, but Mason (Achilles tendon) is fit to replace him. Norwich's captain Butterworth (illness) is expected to return in place of centre-back Prior, but Goss, Crook and Olston are still out.
Leeds United v Arsenal
Speed (knee ligament) could make an unexpected return for Leeds, and defenders Newsome (kidney) and Pemberton (knee) are also fit. Seaman (suspension) returns for Arsenal and Winterburn and Linghan (both illness) also rejoin the squad. Morrow and Davis are left out in favour of Parlour.
Sheffield Wed v West Ham
Wednesday must test the fitness of Jones (groin) and Sinton (foot), while goalkeeper Woods (groin) returns, probably to the bench. Midfielder Marsh (cartilage tear) plays on for an unchanged West Ham.
Swindon Town v Southampton
Swindon will central defender Taylor (bruised calf) and will be without midfielders Nijholt (ban) and Summerbee (hamstring). Reid (Achilles tendon) returns for Southampton after missing six games. Dodd (ankle) is doubtful.
Tottenham Hotspur v Liverpool
Tottenham striker Barmby (thigh) returns after a two-match absence, probably to partner Dozzell. Campbell could be omitted for the first time this season. Wright (groin) is fit, leaving his fellow centre-back Ruddock (hamstring) as Liverpool's only doubt.
Wimbledon v Sheffield United
Wimbledon's Barton (hamstring), Holdsworth (thigh) and Blackwell are fit, but utility man Fear (calf) is doubtful. Sheffield United, looking for their first away win of the season, have injuries to defenders Nilsen (calf) and Gage (knee) and midfielder Bradshaw. Beesley (concussion) and Whitehouse are fit.
TOMORROW
Manchester United v Aston Villa
United, unbeaten at home for 14 months, name the same squad who faced Newcastle last week. Midfielder Richardson (back) returns after a back injury. Daley (ankle), who returns to the squad, and Whittingham vie for Beinlich's place.
