The Scottish League yesterday backed referee Bobby Tait for allowing Tuesday's First Division match between Partick Thistle and St Johnstone to take place. Partick were left without four of their first-team squad and Saints were missing two because the atrocious weather prevented them reaching Firhill Park in time for the match, which St Johnstone won 4- 0.
