Cricket: Warwickshire to call Lara in

WARWICKSHIRE are planning a meeting with Brian Lara to review the problems that have kept him off the field for long periods in recent matches.

Since making his world record 501 not out three weeks ago, the West Indian has been absent through tiredness, stomach upsets and head injuries.

Warwickshire yesterday claimed the matter had been 'blown up out of proportion', but confirmed they would be talking to the player.

Dennis Amiss, their chief executive, said: 'He is absolutely exhausted, which has been the main problem. We intend to sit him down and have a chat. Hopefully everything will be sorted.'
