Royal wedding: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's official photographer has never shot a wedding before

The photographer for the upcoming royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle has been announced.

Kensington Palace has stated that the couple have chosen Alexi Lubomirski to take the official photographs for their wedding on May 19 at Windsor Castle, following the ceremony at St George’s Chapel.

Mr Lubomirski previously took Prince Harry and Ms Markle’s engagement photographs at Frogmore House in Windsor, which were released on December 21 last year.

The British-born fashion and celebrity photographer worked for Mario Testino during the early stages of his career.

Prior to his involvement in Prince Harry and Ms Markle’s engagement photoshoot, Mr Lubomirski had never partaken in any kind of wedding photography.

Mr Lubomirski recently spoke about the experience of photographing the future royal couple while being interviewed at the Daily Front Row Fashion Awards in Los Angeles.

He stated that it was “one of the easiest, most joyful jobs because they were so deliciously in love.”

Prince Harry and Ms Markle first became aware of Mr Lubomirski after a friend of the couple pointed him out on Instagram.

The photographer has expressed how grateful he is to have been chosen for such a monumental event.

“I could not be more thrilled or honoured to photograph this historic occasion,” he wrote on Instagram.

“Having taken Prince Harry and Ms Markle’s engagement photos, it brings me such joy to be able to witness again, the next chapter in this wonderful love story.”

According to a royal source, guests who have been invited to attend the wedding next month all have an existing direct relationship with one or both of the couple.

The couple are under no obligation to invite political leaders to their nuptials, instead choosing to invite 2,640 members of the public to Windsor Castle on the day of the wedding.

Prince Harry and Ms Markle have asked that their guests donate to a list of chosen charities rather than bring them gifts to celebrate their union.
