The San Luca easy chair was designed in 1960 by the quirky and inventive Italian designer Castiglione and is part of an exhibition of his designs at the Aram designer furniture store in Covent Garden. Zeev Aram launched Castiglioni onto an unsuspecting and conservative British public in the Sixties and has been collecting his work privately ever since – the exhibition is a personal tribute to his friend and colleague, who died last year. Castiglioni worked on a huge number of projects and objects and, apart from Aram's private collection displayed for viewing, there is plenty in the exhibition that is for sale, including Arco and Luminator floor lamps, and Zanotta Leonardo desks. Castiglioni exhibition, from 4 March, at Aram, 110 Drury Lane, WC2 (020-7557 7557); www.aram.co.uk

A Florence pure cotton quilt is a contemporary take on a vintage floral print. It comes from Damask, whose exclusively English home range was established in 1987 by Carolyn Dunn to make the most of natural materials and traditional crafts. Her shop was one of the first UK stores to present an mix of decorative furniture and accessories in a lifestyle environment. It also sells a range of pretty cream-painted tables which fold away easily to make the most of small spaces. Florence quilts, from £225, at Damask, Broxholme House, New King's Road, London SW6 (020-7731 3553); www.damask.co.uk

The inspiration for a Kew wallpaper evolved from large ink paintings created at Kew Gardens. It's a botanical abstract print in five colours and was designed by Jocelyn Warner, who was trying to retain the feel of hand-drawing, as well as using gloss ink to give it a painterly quality. Warner recommends hanging isolated sections of wallpaper, so that the effect is less overwhelming – as well as being less expensive. Warner's designs are created by scanning plants and objects into a computer, then simplifying their form so they can be easily manufactured. A contemporary lighting range launched last year included shades made from her wallpaper collections and teamed with tripod lampstands.
