Google home trends: Skanska byggvaror, Suvinil, Hgtv Urban Oasis

Home furnishings site Skanska byggvaror and DIY retailer Suvinil were amongst this week's Google Insights Trends in the category of Home & Garden.

Swedish site Skanska byggvaror sells a variety of home furnishings and fixtures ranging from commonplace baths, doors and windows to more extravagant items such as greenhouses, spas and conservatories.

Brazilian DIY site Suvinil appeared twice under the search terms "Suvinil" and "Suvinil tintas." The site sells a variety of paints and protective coatings for household surfaces including glazed tiles, plaster of Paris and wood.

International blender manufacturer and retailer Vitamix was the third most popular search term. In addition to products the company's website also offers advice on how to eat healthily and provides a range of recipes. Product prices can be obtained by contacting a regional dealer through the company's website Vitamix.com.

American lifestyle television channel "Home & Garden Television" or HGTV experienced a week-on-week search increase of 40 percent, related to the channel's current "Urban Oasis" competition where viewers can win a contemporary Manhattan apartment designed by architect Vern Yip.

The Japanese term ?????? roughly translates as "Misawa Hell" in English and refers to a popular anime character.

The search terms with the most significant growth worldwide in the last seven days as measured by Google Insights under the category Home & Garden, recorded on October 22 at 8:30 AM GMT are:

1.       skanska byggvaror (+70%)
2.       suvinil (+70%)
3.       vitamix (+70%)
4.       suvinil tintas (+50%)
5.       hgtv urban oasis (+40%)
6.       ??????  (+40%)
