US and Japan break off talks
Washington - The United States and Japan broke off trade talks yesterday after failing to reach agreement on changes to Japanese government procurement practices that Washington says discriminate against imports, Japanese officials said. The breakdown, which came after two days of talks here, all but ensures that the US will launch sanctions proceedings against Tokyo in the next day or two. Reuter
