Jail mutineers suffocate in cell
AT LEAST 20 prisoners suspected of leading a mutiny in a Niger jail last week suffocated to death after being crowded into a special security cell, judiciary sources said yesterday. The incident happened in the West African country's capital, Niamey. Some sources said the dead could number up to 30.
