French police go 'fishing'
PARIS - The Interior Minister Charles Pasqua acknowledged yesterday that nightly police dragnets launched after five Frenchmen were killed in Algiers Algerian violence.
'If you don't go fishing, you'll never catch any fish,' he told Radio Luxembourg. He said last week the only choice was between the authorities crushing the Islamic revolt or the most extreme fundamentalists coming to power. France interned six suspected Algerian Muslim fundamentalists yesterday, taking to 23 the number held since last week's killings in Algiers. Reuter
