Danish upset

Two extra-parliamentary groups opposed to the EU were heading for a big victory in yesterday's European elections in Denmark, according to an exit poll, Reuter reports from Copenhagen.

The two groups were set to take five of Denmark's 16 seats in the European Assembly. Opinion polls on the eve of elections had forecast a tie between parties representing lukewarm Europeans, opponents of integration and ardent supporters of closer union.
