Clear Knox of all charges, court urged

Lawyers for a US student accused of killing her British room-mate in Italy were today wrapping up their closing arguments, urging a court to clear her of all charges.

One of Knox's defence lawyers, Luciano Ghirga, today challenged the evidence linked to his client and insisted Knox was innocent.

A verdict is expected by the end of the week.

Miss Kercher's body was found in the apartment she shared with Knox on November 2, 2007. Prosecutors believe she was killed in a drug-fuelled sex game involving Knox, Sollecito and Rudy Hermann Guede, an Ivorian who was convicted last year in a separate trial.
