Police in Spanish holiday resort Magaluf are on the hunt for three suspects after a British teenager said she was gang-raped on a beach.

The 19-year-old, from Scotland, gave detectives a picture that she had taken on her phone of the one of the suspects after they were called to the scene near Punta Ballena, a popular party strip.

A source told the Daily Express: “She had a picture of one of the men she said had raped her and assured officers she could identify him.”

It is not clear whether the teenager was on holiday in Magaluf or lived in the area.

Police say they were called to Punta Ballena at around 1am on Saturday.

They arrived to find the young woman crying. She told officers she had agreed to go to the beach with a male friend that she had known previously from nights out in the area, the Daily Express reports.

She said the man then attacked her, gang-raping her with two other men who appeared to be his friends.

The 19-year-old said she called out for help, but no one responded to her pleas.

Police have yet to make any arrests in the case.

The nationalities of the suspects have not yet been revealed but they are believed to be British.

News of the assault comes following reports of a tourist gang-raped on a beach at the Rimini holiday resort in Italy.

An investigation is underway after a Polish tourist said she was gang-raped as her boyfriend was brutally beaten at the popular resort.

Italian police are still searching for the suspects of what they have called a “brutal and bestial attack”.
