100,000 homeless
Sudan's military-controlled government said that 100,000 people routed from their homes by civil war were gathered around a southern provincial capital without food, AP reports from Khartoum. Mr Nihal, a southern Muslim, called the displaced people 'returnees from the rebel ranks' seeking shelter around Malakal, 430 miles south of Khartoum.
