A Texas priest says that Donald Trump has not been anointed by god to rain fire on North Korea, in spite of what a fellow clergyman may have said.
Catholic Pastor Jushia J Whitfield pushed back on the word of a fellow Texas pastor’s word in an op-ed published in the Dallas Morning News
“Paul, like other New Testament writers and, of course, like Jesus, thought the political realm the realm of Satan,” Father Whitfield wrote. “Political institutions, along with principalities and powers, according to early Christian belief, belonged to the demonic. Hence bloody history, hence violence.”
Mr Trump has engaged in an escalating rhetorical battle with Kim Jong Un. North Korea has been testing it’s nuclear and missile capacities recently, raising concerns that the country will meet its goal of developing a nuclear warhead that could hit US shores. In response, Mr Trump has vowed to rain “fire and fury” on North Korea that would effectively destroy the country’s military capacity.
Father Whitfield argues that the President’s words, and potential action, are antithetical to Christian belief.
“For Paul, it would have been unthinkable to consider a political ruler some sort of anointed Christian prince or president waging war on behalf of believers,” he wrote.

Mr Papadopoulos plead guilty to federal charges for lying to the FBI as a part of a cooperation agreement with Special Counsel Robert Mueller's investigation. Mr Papadopoulos claimed in an interview with the FBI that he had made contacts with Russian sources before joining the Trump campaign, but he actually began working with them after joining the team. Mr Papadopoulos allegedly took a meeting with a professor in London who reportedly told him that Russians had "dirt" on Hillary Clinton. The professor also allegedly introduced Mr Papadopoulos to a Russian who was said to have close ties to officials at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr Papadopoulos also allegedly was in contact with a woman whom he incorrectly described in one email to others in the campaign as the "niece" to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In response to Mr Trump’s threats, North Korea has recently announced that they are developing attack plans to strike Guam, an American territory, if the US President doesn’t soften his rhetoric. The US, then, announced that there are several potential plans available to Mr Trump should he decide that an offensive or defensive attack is necessary to curb North Korea’s ambitions.
The US is “locked and loaded,” Mr Trump tweeted recently.
