Playground abductor is foiled

A man who tried to abduct two sisters as they played in an adventure playground was being hunted by police yesterday.

The man, who had a scar or scab on his cheek, chased and grabbed the girls, aged ten and six, after asking if they wanted to see some puppies. The children screamed, struggled and escaped after a woman standing nearby intervened.

The girls were playing in a group near the Granville Centre in Kilburn, north-west London, late on Saturday afternoon.
