Britain sees in 2012 with nationwide party

Thousands of New Year's Eve revellers took part in a parade through Northumberland Street in Newcastle last night as millions celebrated across the country.

In central London, hundreds of thousands were expected to watch the London Eye fireworks display, while in Scotland, partygoers in Edinburgh headed for the world-famous Hogmanay street party.
