Bernadette Walker: Parents of missing teenage girl charged with murder
Teenager was reported missing three weeks ago
The mother and father of missing teenager Bernadette Walker have been charged with her murder.
The 17-year-old had been reported missing from her home in Peterborough on 21 July by her parents after she had not been seen for three days.
Cambridgeshire Police said Sarah Walker, 37, and Scott Walker, 50, were both charged with murder on Monday.
They have been remanded in custody and are due to appear before a court virtually.
Detective superintendent Jon Hutchinson said: "Whilst my team have made significant progress with this investigation in the last few days, we are yet to find Bernadette.
"Therefore my plea is for anyone who has information on what has happened to her, or where she might be, to get in touch as a matter of urgency."
On Friday, detectives launched a “no-body” murder investigation after she had been missing for three weeks.
Anyone with any information should call 101 and quote Operation Penshaw.
