Two British climbers missing in Pakistan
Two British climbers have been reported missing in Pakistan, it was disclosed last night. The Foreign Office confirmed their names as Stephen Thornley and Andrew Boas, but did not give their ages or addresses. A spokesman said the FO was contacted by a family member and had asked the High Commission in Islamabad to investigate. Another climber who was with the two men and is also missing is thought to be a New Zealander, Chris Hoare.
The spokesman could not confirm a report that they were part of a team attempting to climb Disteghil Sar, one of the world's highest mountains, or that they were last seen three weeks ago. Jojo Moyes
